The Nest: Supporting Young Parents
The Nest: Supporting Young Parents

The Nest offers young parents and their infants access to safe, secure accommodation. The program aims to help young parents maintain custody of their baby when facing homelessness or unsafe living conditions such as domestic violence.
To be eligible for the Nest a young person must be aged 16-19 and be in the late stages of pregnancy or have an infant under the age of two.
Once accepted into the program, each family is given a home to call their own for up to two years. During this time a Youth Worker will help them;
Stay safe and healthy
Develop vital parenting skills, financial and independent living skills
Create a plan to secure future long-term accommodation.
